Prabhas in a romantic avatar charms his way into the audience hearts

Radhe Shyam movie review

Radha Krishna Kumar gives up a visual spectacle in this epic fairy tale which combines love, faith, destiny, astrology, mythology, science, karma and more..

Prabhas in a romantic avatar charms his way into the audience hearts and the rebel star in this different image of a lover boy makes an endearing impression.

Pooja Hegde looks beautiful and graceful and has a strong role in this love story.

Radha Krishna Kumar makes it grand, though the story is mostly on familiar lines, the presentation and the impact on big screen is like an epic love saga. The cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa is eye popping each frame is like a post card on screen.

The art direction by Illia Boccia, Sagar Mali, Giulia Parigi, Gayatri Shinde ( also set decoration) and the costumes by Thota Vijay Bhaskar and Eka Lakhani are gorgeous.

The movie looks like an eye pleasing combo of Hollywood Disney meeting the ethnic grandiosity of Indian epics by Rajamouli, Bhansali etc.

Though the chemistry between Prabhas and Pooja Hegde is charmingly endearing making us feel for them, the narration in the first half is boringly slow.

The real movie picks up after the intermission and when the real war between love, karma, destiny & faith begins, the audience is hooked. The pre climax and the climax is exactly how an epic should have. The audience keeps on wondering till the very end.

The supporting cast Bhagyashree as Prabhas mother, Sathyaraj as Prabhas guru, Sachin Khedekar as Pooja Hegde’s father, Kunaal Roy Kapur as Prabhas friend chip in with good support. Special mention for Jayaram is a must.

Final words

Radhe Shyam is a picturesquely epic Indian love saga shot in those gorgeous locations of the west. Love requires patience so does this love story that sees Prabhas and Pooja Hegde charming our hearts. Do watch this beautiful, divine story of love if you believe in love and or in destiny.
