Satyaprem Ki Katha movie review

Marathi film Anandi Gopal fame director Sameer Vidwans and writer Karan Shrikant Sharma deliver an empowering story on love and acceptance.

Built on the known and tested old school stories of love boy meets girl and love blossoms as one accepts the other with all his/her drawbacks, etc.

The core issue of Sayaprem Ki Katha is strong and director Sameer Vidwans and writer Karan Shrikant Sharma adapt a populist approach.

In the beginning Sayaprem Ki Katha feels like a quirky comedy or say rom com set in Gujarat, the first half is a buildup and the real movie begins during the second half.

There are glaring loopholes and first half is not convincing and times tedious and bore with hardly any connect.

The best part is SatyaPrem Ki Katha is a love story and not a rom com. It has its heart and emotions at the right place and the message do gets delivered. The only thing is the heart beats after the second half.

The core issue is sensibly maintaining a grace and dignity. Its filmy agreed but not flimsy.

The movie will touch your heart strings by the end.

The chemistry between Kartik and Kiara is adorable.

Performance

Kartik Aaryan as Sattu aka Satya Prem excels in the second half. The first half is the one which we have seen but in second half, kartik Aaryan transforms and that will surely win the hearts of the audience and of of course his fans.

Kiara Advani gives a super performance. The rle give sher different shades and she does remarkably well. Her fear, anger, discomfort everything comes out beautifully.

Gajraj Rao as Satya’s father is perfect. Supriya Pathak as Satya’s mother is competent. Siddharth Randeria as Katha’s father makes a solid impression. Anuradha Patel as Katha’s mother is fine.

Rajpal Yadav is wasted

Satyaprem Ki Katha final words

No, it’s not a rom com, it’s a love story, an empowering story of love and acceptance. Its filmy but not flimsy. In one word it’s a surprise.
