The iconic golden voice of radio that ruled our hearts for generations after generations, Ameen Sayani died at the age of 91.

As per reports Ameen Sayani passed away in the hospital due to heart failure.

Ameen Sayani remained a household name due to the evergreen radio countdown programme 'Geetmala'.

Ameen Sayani’s son Rajil Sayani has been reported saying that that his father was rushed to the HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai as he complained of heart attack but couldn't be saved. The funeral will be held on Thursday.

Born on December 21, 1932 in Mumbai, Ameen Sayani is a legendary iconic radio host who gained immortality due to his famous intro lines ‘bhaiyo or behno’.

Ameen Sayani began his career as an English-language broadcaster, and transitioned to Hindi after India's independence.

Ameen Sayani's career spanned over six decades, producing and presenting over 54,000 radio programs and 19,000 voice-overs for advertisements and jingles.

Ameen Sayani also did some acting in films often playing as an announcer.
