‘Drishyam 3’: Jeethu Joseph makes his stand clear, will the Hindi third version starring Ajay Devgn will see the light? find out

Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph – the creator of the blockbuster franchise ‘Drishyam’ has given his statement regarding the ‘Drishyam 3’ controversy where it was alleged that Hindi version of ‘Drishyam 3’ would begin filming before the original Malayalam version led by Mohanlal.

The reports suggesting legal friction over ‘Drishyam 3’ between Jeethu Joseph’s team and the makers of the Hindi adaptation starring Ajay Devgn and all other speculations has got the answer.

Here is what Jeethu Joseph has said in an interview with Deccan Chronicle.

Jeethu Joseph has rubbished the claims, calling them “false and a media hoax.”

The rumours emerged following speculative reports that the Hindi version of ‘Drishyam 3’ would begin filming before the original Malayalam version led by Mohanlal. It was alleged that Jeethu Joseph had even threatened legal action to prevent the Hindi remake from going on floors first. The director has now clarified his stance.

“The reports are totally false and are false and a media hoax...I have not spoken anything like taking legal action etc. We don’t need to take the legal route. No such situation has ever risen, simply, because they contacted us as they wanted to discuss some story idea with us.”

On his recent interaction with Pathak, Joseph added:

“Recently, I read reports stating that some legal actions were to be taken ahead, actually there is nothing like that. They told me they had some story ideas they wanted to share with me. I told them that I have already started working on my own story so they were waiting to read my script. I met producer Kumar Mangat’s son director Abhishek Pathak in Cochin. He said he is just waiting for my script. There are no issues between us. We are in regular talks and have no issues at all.”

Shedding more light on their meeting in Cochin, Joseph reiterated the cordial nature of their collaboration:

“Recently, Abhishek Pathak, was in Cochin as he had come for some other meeting. We had also met then. He had asked about our script’s present situation. To which I responded it may take another one or two months. So, they are waiting for me to finish the script as it will take one or two months, everything will be settled amicably with no issues between us. As further for the Hindi version- after they take the rights from us then, they have to make certain necessary geographical/cultural changes. Obviously, they cannot re-make it exactly.”

With this clear and open statement, Jeethu Joseph has put all rumours to rest, reaffirming his professional relationship with the Hindi Drishyam team and confirming that ‘Drishyam 3’—in all its versions—will move forward harmoniously.
