India's Harnaaz Sandhu made India proud as she got crowned as Miss Universe 2021. The Chandigarh girl brought the Miss Universe glory back to India after 21 years.
Harnaaz Sandhu, was crowned the titled by Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico.
The 21-year-old model Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned the Miss Universe 2021 on December 12, 2021 at Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel.
Before Harnaaz it was Lara Dutta in 2021 who was crowned Miss Universe.
The news of Harnaaz's win was posted by the official Instagram account of Miss Universe Organisation.
"The new Miss Universe is…India," they captioned the clip. The clip shows Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico crowning an emotional Harnaaz, who will become her successor.
Harnaaz Sandhu of India was crowned the 70th Miss Universe; the Indian model topped the 80 contestants in the world beauty pageant.
Harnaaz Sandhu battled with hot favorites like the runner-up Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira and second runner-up Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane — to emerge as the worthy winner.
Elated with her victory, Harnaaz Sandhu says, “I am immensely grateful to the Almighty, my parents and the Miss India Organization for guiding and supporting me throughout.
