Ajay Devgn follows the footsteps of SRK?!

Yes, Bollywood’s dark horse Ajay Devgn is set to follow the footsteps of Bollywood’s king of romance – Shah Rukh Khan.

We all know that Shah Rukh Khan and his son Abram Khan gave the Hindi voice-over for "Mufasa: The Lion King." Shah Rukh Khan voiced the character Mufasa, while Abram Khan voiced the character of the young Mufasa. Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh's elder son, gave the voice for Simba in the Hindi version.

Now, Ajay Devgn and Son Yug Devgan will give their voices for Mr. Han and Li Fong respectively in the Hindi dub version of the much-awaited ‘Karate Kid: Legends’.

In a landmark move, Sony Pictures Entertainment India unites one of India’s most celebrated stars, Ajay Devgn, along with his son, Yug Devgan for their first-ever collaboration — and it's for a major Hollywood franchise. The duo will lend their voices to the Hindi version of ‘Karate Kid: Legends’, which releases in theatres across India on May 30, in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

 

Ajay Devgn voices the iconic character Mr. Han, portrayed by Jackie Chan, while Yug makes his much-anticipated debut as Li Fong, the film’s lead character originally played by Ben Wang. This marks Ajay Devgn’s first-ever voiceover for an international film in his illustrious career, while Yug brings a fresh and youthful spirit to a globally beloved franchise.

Their real-life bond adds emotional resonance to the film’s central theme — the relationship between a mentor and his protégé. Yug’s passion for the franchise, natural charisma, and voice impact make him a fitting choice to carry forward the Karate Kid legacy for a new generation of Indian audiences.

 

Set in New York City, ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ follows kung fu prodigy Li Fong as he adjusts to life in a new school, forges unexpected bonds, and is drawn into an intense showdown with a local karate champion. Under the guidance of his teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) and the legendary Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Li embarks on a transformative journey of self-discovery, courage, and growth.

 

The casting of Ajay and Yug not only celebrates family and legacy but also symbolizes a generational crossover — bridging the iconic legacy of ‘The Karate Kid’ with fresh new voices.
