Bheemla Nayak review

Bheemla Nayak is an action drama that is based on two individuals who have very strong egos. This aspect is established so well right from the first scene onwards. As the film moves ahead, the confrontation scenes dominate the proceedings and they are the main USP. There is no song and dance routine in this film as the subject is serious.

The entire first half goes into establishing the feud between the two lead actors. This is also the time the proceedings look a bit slow. But director Sagar Chandra manages to elevate the interval block in a special way. The film goes to the next level in the second half as Pawan Kalyan's aggressive side is brought.

The cat and mouse game keeps the audience in the zone though the story is quite predictable. But Pawan and Rana manage to hold your attention with their performances. The climax is also etched well and the manner in which the sentiment angle is brought in is superb and ends the film in an impressive manner.

Performances

As Pawan Kalyan is an active politician now, he is choosing roles that are mature and helpful to society. He plays a sincere cop and is quite effective in his approach. Through the first half, he looks quite sober. But tides change in the second half and the mass star we know comes in front and gives ample whistle-blowing moments.

Rana plays a negative role and is no lesser than Pawan Kalyan. In fact, in many scenes, Rana even dominates Pawan with his killer attitude and is one of the backbones of the film. Nithya Menen is impressive as Pawan's wife who is brave. Murali Sharma is decent and so is Samyukhta Menon. Other cast had nothing much to do.

Technicalities

Bheemla Nayak is the official remake of the Malayalam super hit Ayyapanum Koshiyum. The makers have made key changes to suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audience. All this makes the writing department quite effective. Thaman is the king of BGM's and is in full flow and pumps iron with his music score. The songs are a rage and the visuals only enhance the narrative.

As the film is a confrontation drama, dialogues are key and they have been written quite well by ace director Trivikram. Mass fights will be loved by the fans and especially those between Pawan and Rana are to die for. The camerawork is quite efficient.

Final word

Bheemla Nayak is an out-and-out action drama that depends heavily on the performances of Pawan Kalyan and Rana. They do not disappoint one bit and give the fans a thrilling ride. As there is no biggie in the next few weeks, this film which has solid drama will break several records at the box office and ends as a compelling watch.
