After receiving rave reviews at the special screenings held at IFFI Goa, Delhi and Kolkata, India Lockdown directed by Madhur Bhandarkar is finally set for release on ZEE5 on 2nd December. A day before its premiere on ZEE5, Madhur Bhandarkar along with cast members Shweta Basu Prasad, Aahana Kumra and Prateik Babbar reached Siddhivinayak Temple to seek blessings for the success of the film.
 
Shot in 2021, the film narrates four parallel stories of disparate characters who are catapulted into an unforeseen dramatic situation instigated by the lockdown due to the corona pandemic. Starring Shweta Basu Prasad, Aahana Kumra, Prateik Babbar, Sai Tamhankar and Prakash Balewadi, the direct-to-digital movie, is the first Hindi feature film on covid pandemic and its repercussions on the people of India.
 
Madhur Bhandarkar is known to make films inspired by real scenarios and India Lockdown is no different. The early reviews have started pouring in and critics seem to agree that India Lockdown is going to be another realistic cinema from the house of Madhur Bhandarkar and this film too will win hearts.
