Madhuri Dixit returns to the thriller genre with ‘Mrs Deshpande’, playing a convicted serial killer who helps police hunt down a copycat murderer.
Apart from the cat and mouse game, the series also explores a tense and twisted mother–son relationships.
‘Mrs Deshpande’ is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor whose recent reality based investigative crime thriller ‘The Hunt: The Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case’ on Sony LIV won rave reviews.
‘Mrs Despande’ will see Madhuri in a never-seen-before avatar, a supposedly innocent woman who is actually a convicted serial killer helping police catch a copycat murderer.
In the series, Madhuri as Mrs Deshpande a serial killer is serving a 25-year prison sentence and is approached by the police when a new murderer starts mimicking her crimes. The show is an official remake of the French series La Mante, and blends psychological suspense with intense emotional drama.
Produced by Applause Entertainment and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, Mrs Deshpande scheduled to premiere on JioHotstar on December 19, 2025.
