Randeep Hooda starrer Netflix's CAT takes Chandigarh by storn
Headlined by the versatile & intense Randeep Hooda, Netflix’s upcoming crime thriller - CAT spotlights a parallel narrative spanning across two crucial timelines in Punjab, that shape the fate of one man and his family - Gurnam Singh. CAT is shot exclusively across locations in Punjab and boasts of original sound tracks specially created for the series. The cast - Randeep Hooda, Hasleen Kaur and Suvinder Vicky along with the creator of the show - Balwinder Singh Janjua visited Chandigarh to open up more about CAT and unveil the music of the show.

CAT goes beyond the romanticized version of Punjab and puts forth an authentic story of a brother’s love, remission and espionage. It is the story of Gurnaam Singh who is compelled to become a police informant once again in spite of donning a new identity and moving forward in life. While Gurnaam is not new to this, the stakes are high this time around. To secure his brother's future, he finds himself plunged into the underbelly of politics, corruption and crime to bust a thriving drug cartel. Is he being used for personal gain in the process? Caught in the crosshairs of betrayal and deceit, will this game of cat and mouse take him down the rabbit hole?

Speaking about CAT, creator Balwinder Singh Janjua shares, “Coming to Punjab is like homecoming! I would like to thank the people of Punjab for extending all their love and support throughout the filming of CAT and I sincerely hope that they like it. CAT is a very unique story and I am glad we could collaborate with Netflix to bring this story to life. We’ve tried to be as authentic as possible in representing the two timelines that are shown, the language, the sound tracks, the complexities of relationships, and the journey of our characters. Working with the entire cast has been a rewarding experience and I hope the audience appreciates our efforts!”

Actor Randeep Hooda spoke of his experience working on CAT, “It has been a pleasure visiting Punjab and working here. We’ve spent a few months shooting across nearly 80 locations in the state and the experience has been nothing short of wonderful. I’ve witnessed the love, family ties and brotherhood that the communities share here and I’ve tried to imbibe all of it in Gurnaam Singh. He further added, “I am hopeful that viewers will enjoy watching the series and resonate with the story we’ve tried to tell.”

Actor Hasleen Kaur who plays Babita, a headstrong and honest police officer  alongside Randeep said, “It feels great to be back here in Punjab. It’s not just my home, it’ll now forever be etched in my heart as the place where I also worked on such an incredible project, with such a talented cast and crew. Moreover, being a strong-willed police officer in Punjab takes two things - grit and courage and the time I’ve spent learning and channeling that part of my personality into Babita’s character has been really enjoyable. We’ve truly had an amazing time shooting for CAT here and the entire journey has been surreal.”

Actor Suvinder Vicky shares, “I am so delighted to have had the opportunity to be here today. Working on CAT and alongside an incredible cast and crew has been simply fantastic. When I first spoke to Balwinder about the series, he had such an amazing vision to tell this story and showcase Punjab in its real element - the people, the history and lived experiences that the land has witnessed. I must say that it has translated so beautifully on-screen. It is my genuine hope that viewers watch the series on Netflix because I am certain that they will enjoy it.”

Along with Randeep Hooda, Suvinder Vicky and Hasleen Kaur, the series stars phenomenal actors such as  Geeta Aggarwal, Dakssh Ajit Singh, Sukhwinder Chahal, KP Singh, Kavya Thapar, Danish Sood and Pramod Pathal amongst others. Produced by Movie Tunnel Productions in association with Jelly Bean Entertainment, CAT, available in Punjabi, Hindi and English, is slated to release on 9th December, only on Netflix.

CAT will be streaming on 9th December, 2022 only on Netflix
