After an overnight transformation to veganism eight years ago, she returns to her motherland with a new set of eyes that are open to animal cruelty. Dolly strives to transform India back into the “Land of Ahimsa,” and inspire others to immediately end violence towards all living beings.

After a long wait for a good script and after the pandemic Aryeman was excited to direct ‘The Land Of Ahimsa’. Aryeman shares his experiences with us while shooting for this lovely documentary. He says, ““This documentary will transform the Indian and world  population to adopt an Ahimsic lifestyle. My 10-year-old son had turned vegetarian after attending the shoot for just 2 days”.

Aryeman came to direct The Land Of Ahimsa when a family friend Dolly Vyas-Ahuja, the producer of this documentary approached him. Being his first documentary Aryeman was all excited with the research Dolly had done as she returned to her homeland after having discovering the power of “Ahimsa” through her transition to a vegan lifestyle.

She says, “Once I found out about the cruelty of dairy and animal agriculture, I started to see the world through their lens. Their baby being taken away was my baby, their milk being stolen was my milk being stolen, their anxiety, fear and pain became a part of me. I had to take action and share my truth with the rest of India.”

This documentary covers multiple dimensions for why one needs to practice Ahimsa. While India is currently the diabetes capital of the world, this film covers the ethical treatment to animals, benefits to our health and climate change. Throughout the film, the makers have interviewed plant-based doctors, athletes, animal activists, entrepreneurs, and visit sanctuaries to illustrate the importance of “Ahimsa” in action in India with the intention this will resonate across the globe.
