Black, White & Gray – Love Kills review

Extending the core of the 2017 award winning TV series Dev (mixing fiction and reality) where he directed two episodes into a full fledge crime mockumentary, creator, writer, director and editor Pushkar Sunil Mahabalm’s ‘Black, White & Gray – Love Kills’ is edgy, raw, rustic and uniquely stylish crime mockumentary that has de noir tones and achieves in making a social comment on class divide, morality, survival of the fittest, love, lust, greed, honor, justice in this complex world where priorities keep changing.

A plan escapade goes wrong and life of a driver’s son (Mayur More) and daughter (Palak Jaiswal), of a local heavyweight politician (Anant Jog). Incidents took place in Nagpur and the series travels from Nagpur to the picturesque Uttarakhand for a thought-provoking climax.

Mockumentary is a genre more exposed in the west and some naysayers will find it a prolonged television news broadcast but for those who are aware of the genre will find ‘Black, White & Gray – Love Kills’ achieving the edge in showcasing the forces of law and order look interesting, weird and funny bad guys at times.

Backed by outstanding performance from Mayur More – the accused and Palak Jaiswal making a solid impression, the web series is supported by some fine performances from the supporting cast that includes Deven Bhojani, Edward Sonnenblick, Hakkim Shahjahan, Anant Jog and  Kamlesh Sawant.
