Journalist Daniel Gray is fascinated by India, the journalist investigates a series of murders linked to a young man from a marginalized background played by Mayur More. The investigation uncovers corruption, patriarchy, and social inequality, blurring the lines between right and wrong.
Extending the core of the 2017 award winning TV series Dev (mixing fiction and reality) where he directed two episodes into a full fledge crime mockumentary, creator, writer, director and editor Pushkar Sunil Mahabalm’s ‘Black, White & Gray – Love Kills’ is edgy, raw, rustic and uniquely stylish crime mockumentary that has de noir tones and achieves in making a social comment on class divide, morality, survival of the fittest, love, lust, greed, honor, justice in this complex world where priorities keep changing.
A plan escapade goes wrong and life of a driver’s son (Mayur More) and daughter (Palak Jaiswal), of a local heavyweight politician (Anant Jog). Incidents took place in Nagpur and the series travels from Nagpur to the picturesque Uttarakhand for a thought-provoking climax.
Mockumentary is a genre more exposed in the west and some naysayers will find it a prolonged television news broadcast but for those who are aware of the genre will find ‘Black, White & Gray – Love Kills’ achieving the edge in showcasing the forces of law and order look interesting, weird and funny bad guys at times.
Backed by outstanding performance from Mayur More – the accused and Palak Jaiswal making a solid impression, the web series is supported by some fine performances from the supporting cast that includes Deven Bhojani, Edward Sonnenblick, Hakkim Shahjahan, Anant Jog and Kamlesh Sawant.

‘Black, White & Gray – Love Kills’ – the experimental mockumentary by Pushkar Sunil Mahabalm achieves its purpose by mixing fiction with footages and interview which look real but actually a smart gimmick that works in showcasing the fakeisim and morality crises in the society.
Going with a deserving three and half stars out of five
