Gullak 5 – seasons after seasons this ‘Gullak’ continues to touch your heart, brimming with all emotions

Gullak 5 plot

In Season 5 we see the Mishra Nivas getting a new look but the efforts of Mishra ji (Jameel Khan) is not giving the desired result, while the members of Mishra Niwas are growing up.

A new Wi-Fi connection, Annu (now played by Anant Joshi) is doing well in his job but faced by challenges and pressure from office and home. The child like innocence of Aman (Harsh Mayar) has almost vanished and he is secretly into something. Shanti (Geetanjali Kulkarni) is also fighting a battle and ‘Bittu Ki Mummy’ (Sunita Rajwar) has developed a new passion.

So, ‘Gullak 5’ is about people finding their identity, space and a place with dreams and aspirations.

Gullak 5 review

Like its previous seasons ‘Gullak 5’ is like watching the Mishra’s sitting in Mishra Niwas. Straight from the life, brimming with emotions, ‘Gullak 5’ created by Shreyansh Pandey who is also the director along with his co-director Abhay Raut and writer Vivid Tripathi maintain the USP of ‘Gullak’ marvellously.

It’s very difficult to maintain the same atmosphere, humour, quirks, the milieu of a Hindi belt town like Bhopal for the fifth time in a row and emerge victorious one again.

Sony LIV and The Viral Fever (TVF) had done it in ‘Gullak’ and set an example. We have seen TVF’s ‘Panchayat’ getting into the Prakash Jha zone but ‘Gullak’ sticks to its roots successfully.

The seven episodes of ‘Gullak 5’ revolves around growing up, change, challenges, morality, identity, family, values and more.

Personally, I thought that this season will explore more and there may be the 8th episode coming up, but alas.

So, definitely there are chances of more seasons coming for sure.

Performance

The actors win hearts once again.

Jameel Khan excellent.

Geetanjali Kulkarni brilliant.

Anant Joshi steps into the shoes of Anu and does a marvellous job. He successfully with a relatable and delightful performance makes his entry into the audience heart.

Harsh Mayar displays his growth as an actor

Sunita Rajwar is so effortless.

Helly Shah as the dentist has her moments and does a fine job.

And yes, Gopal Dutt makes his entry as ‘Pinki Mama’ bringing sly humour to the core

Gullak 5 review - final words

The kisse (read stories, episodes of ‘Gullak 5) are heartfelt, delightful, rooted and relatable to the common Indian which somewhere reminds us of the simplicity of masters like Kudan Shah, Basu Chatterjee, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Sai Paranjape in its ability to conquer the audience heart.

Presented by Sony LIV and produced by TVF, Sony LIV’s original ‘Gullak 5’ is streaming on Sony LIV from June 05, 2026.
