What: The second season of the fantastic season 1

Hostages Season 2 synopsis

Continuing from the cliff-hanger situation from season 1, the series introduces some interesting new set of characters with their own reasons for getting involved in the murky situation surrounding CM Handa’s kidnapping. Ronit Bose Roy reprises his role of protagonist SP Prithvi Singh who is again in the eye of storm. The Hunter is now getting hunted? What happens next?

Hostages Season 2 review

Gets hotter, some unique surprises and adds more humanity that’s how Hostages Season 2 created by OmriGivon, YeziraIvrit & Rotem Shamir, directed by Sachin Krishn & Sudhir Mishra (Series Director) respects season 1 and gives full justice.

The screenplay by Nisarg Mehta is tight and engaging with Ronit Roy leading the force with elan.

A perfect binge watch for the lovers of thrillers and drama, Hostages Season 2 is a smartly placed, twisty crime thriller series.  Made with the kind of verve that enables almost all the twists to hit us with some good force of surprises.

Performances

Hostages season 2 is further elevated by super strong central performance by Ronit Roy.Good to see veteran Kanwaljit Singh while Divya Dutta is a welcome addition, Dino Morea springs a surprise, Shibani Dandekar is truly hot and adds a different twist. Shilpa Shukla has a flashy cameo. Amit Sial is competent. Shweta Bose is fantastic. And then there is Danish Husain (cannot revel more and turn a spoiler). Yes, last but not the least Asif Basra – fabulous.

Technicalities

Produced bySameer Nair, Rishi Negi, Deepak Dhar & Deepak Segal, the production values are first rate. Music by Karel Antonin deserves special mention.

Flaws in Hostages Season 2

This ironic cat and mouse drama that changes position and keeps you guessing, for a while does get into the familiar zone and turns predictable for a while.

Any scene that should be deleted at once

The opening scene, that scene with Divya Dutta with that guy, that ‘typical’ police officer.

Any memorable scene/dialogue

The scene with Asif Basra

Bottom line

Hostages Season 2 is a compelling & thrilling follow up. If you have loved season 2 then you cannot afford to miss this follow up.
