Musafir Cafe review: A Resonating And Charming Adage On Love, Desires, Dreams And Compassion

Picturesquely shot, the Netflix show exploits the push and pull between love, dreams and desires amongst the youngsters of today. Relatable and lovable characters like Sudha though being stubborn and the charming and decent Chander who has hidden desires make way into the audience hearts. Director Ruchir Arun (Court Kacheri, Loot Kaand, Ghar Waapsi, Unpaused: Naya Safar, Clutch, Little Things) makes sure that the odd chemistry between Sudha and Chander who are as different as Imtiaz Ali and Anurag Kashyap charms the audience.

But don’t be mistaken, the characters of Musafir Cafe may sound familiar and if you are taking it as a sweet love story between Chander, Sudha and Preeti, you are in for a surprise.

The prime characters are ruled by their choices taken and the hidden guilt which leaves a vacuum. ‘Musafir Cafe’ is also about people, places and their spaces.

The take on the institute of marriage may be off-putting for a section and the abrupt, underwhelming ending almost breaks the heart. Further, it’s not clear whether season 2 is n cards or not. The character of writer played by Rajeev who pops up every now and then to give gyaan to Preeti seems forced.

While Adil Hussain and Sadiya charm their way into this heartfelt love story.

The performances of the prime characters are winning, Vikrant, Vedika and Mahima win the audience hearts.

Not exactly that binge watch series but certainly a time well spend with your loved one with a coffee in your hand.
