Rakshak: India's Braves - Chapter 2 synopsis

In 2019, A convoy in Pulwama was ambushed. Ten days post the incident, a plan was underway for another major attack. The story of India’s Braves 2 follows 72 hours prior to the incident.  'Naib Subedar Sombir Singh' played by Barun Sobti & 'DYSP Aman Kumar Thakur’ played by Vishwas Kini conduct joint operations based on the information from intelligence sources about the presence of the militants. Putting their lives at stake, they neutralize the foreign terrorist identified as a Category ‘A++’ terrorist thus saving the lives of many; however, the duo was martyred.

Exploring patriotic sentiments, the story intricately unfolds the account of Junior Commissioned Officer Naib Subedar Sombir Singh. He collaborated with DYSP Aman Kumar Thakur in a joint operation in Kulgam district, successfully neutralizing terrorists and safeguarding both the lives of citizens and the nation's integrity.

Rakshak: India's Braves - Chapter 2 review

Delving into the story of the Kulgam operation by Bijesh Jayrajan, Rakshak- India’s Braves: Chapter 2 unfolds the gallantry and passion of Naib Subedar Sombir Singh and DYSP Aman Kumar Thakur, driven by a deep conviction to safeguard the nation from the threats of militants. It is notable to mention that Naib Subedar Sombir Singh was awarded with ‘The Shaurya Chakra’ and DYSP Aman Kumar Thakur with ‘Sher-E-Kashmir’ Medal for Gallantry, in recognition for their bravery and courage in anti-militancy operations.

Director Ajay Bhuyan constructs a fast-paced, breathless, and relentless drama (screenplay by Animitra Chakrvarti) filled with intrigue and high-combat action (designed by Nishant Abdul Khan). The technicalities employed are very impressive and the editing cuts (Archit Rastogi) are first rate. Costume stylist Ashish Sharma’s work encompasses minute detailing and the background score curated by Nirmal Pandya powers the energetic rhythm of the narrative with an exquisite lensing of Kashmir under DoP Jitan Harmeet Singh.

Rakshak: India's Braves - Chapter 2 – final words

The 3-part show extends special thanks to the ADG Strategic Communication, Indian Army and pays a heartfelt homage to the two honorary heroes, who laid down their lives in the line of their duty. Barun Sobti plays Sombir with grit and gumption, humanizing every aspect of the war hero. Viswas complements him in every frame. The deadly assassin Haider Qasim played by Rajat Kaul is menacing and exudes a chilling vibe. The female brigade – comprising – Surbhi Chandna, Ashmita Baksgi and Seerat Mast performs earnestly, gelling well into the scheme of things.

I go with 4 stars out of 5 for Rakshak: India’s Braves Chapter 2. Produced by Juggernaut Studios, it justifies the anticipation to watch the war heroes and their exemplary commitment on screen and swells our heart with pride.
