Rocket Boys S2 review

SonyLIV

Sony LIV's Rocket Boys 2, Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Nikhil Advani (also the creator), Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani and scripted and directed by Abhay Pannu, is another triumph and a strong contender for the year’s OTT awards, especially technical.

Meticulously crafted, brilliantly mounted and absolutely loyal to the theme, its characters and the era. A remarkable example of facts (those raw footages) and fiction having the winning effect on the audience. Rocket Boys 2 has more politics and personal battles and its range is wider than Rocket Boys 1.

The magic of science, the genius of a human, the power of self believe and the boons of determination Rocket Boys 2 finds firm footage.

And it’s not only about Homi and Vikram, it’s also about Mrinalini Sarabhai (Regina), the young APJ Abdul Kalam (Arjun Radhakrishnan), Jawaharlal Nehru ( Rajit Kapoor), and Indira Gandhi (Charu Shankar).

The eight episode series is thoroughly engaging, having enough drama twined by suspense and dose of thrills when required to keep the audience on constant hook.

Flaws

SonyLIV

Dibyendu Bhattacharya is a marvelous actor but his fictional character Raza gets unnecessary beating. More of APJ Abdul Kalam was needed.

Final words

Rocket Boys Season 2 is an eminently well-made account of India’s two great legends in science and space technology. Dr. Homi Bhabha and Dr Vikram Sarabhai.
