The Broken Table short film review : "Captivates you with its tale of unusual love and acceptance"
Chintan Sarda's written and directed short film " The Broken Table" stars the actors par excellence, Naseeruddin Shah and Rasika Dugal, in an unusual circumstance that cocoons the emotions of love, loss and acceptance.

Dugal plays Deepti , pursuing a master's course in Psychology, who is approached by a family to take care of their father, Giri( Naseeruddin Shah) who is suffering from Alzheimer's.

Giri, a retired divorce lawyer has frequent lapses of memory and slips into forgetfulness and irritability. He thinks Deepti is his client who seeks divorce from her incompatible husband and starts giving her life's lessons. During their conversation, Deepti realises how badly Giri misses his wife Prabha who is no more but he believes her to be alive and around him.

Sarda, who made an acclaimed 'Shunyata' fleshes up a story that is very relatable and thought provoking. With a profound messaging, it benefits from the superlative performances of the two actors who lend a piercing poignancy to the 24 minute narrative.

It's always a treat to watch such immensely talented artists perform with an unmistakable dexterity that marbles short content tales and sends out strong messages.

The Broken Table is from the stable of Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short films and streams on Youtube.
