Krishna Mukherjee on how she used her personal experience to essay a strong-girl role in a patriarchal society for Hungama Play’s ‘Hasratein’
Hungama Play, a leading OTT platform, is gearing up for the launch of its latest anthology series – Hasratein. The series features eminent actors Monalisa, Adaa Khan, Krishna Mukherjee, Ravi Bhatia, Vin Rana, Shilpa Tulaskar, Sana Sayyad, Siddharth Sharma, Ayussh Anand and Sahil Uppal in pivotal roles. Hasratein explores the stories of five women belonging to different age groups, who challenge taboos prevailing in society to find true physical love, once in their lifetimes. Krishna Mukherjee, who recently married the man of her dreams, gets candid about a girl’s choice of choosing her partner and how it continues to remain a challenge in a patriarchal society.

Talking about getting into the skin of the character, she shared, “It’s a story I relate to. During my college days, a friend of mine who was popularly known for her smile was hiding her pain behind that beautiful smile. She was not left with the choice of choosing her partner and my story revolves around similar lines. It is disheartening to see such practices still prevalent in our society. So, I channeled my personal experience to essay the role of Jyoti, a strong girl, who chose to have her way in a patriarchal society.”

Web Series 'Hasratein' will launch soon on Hungama Play.
