Toxic Hindi Trailer : A Probable Septical Seven Hundred Crores Disaster

Welcome to Yashnapur. Said to be the Goa during the Portuguese era – 1947 to 1961 you will find tributes to the pujaris of violence ranging from the acclaimed videshi’s like Tarantino, Guy Ritchie, David Lynch to the desi Bhardwaj’s, Kashyap’s and Vanga’s traveling with their ‘Animal’ instincts in those tongas. Creating a surreal hell that resides besides that blood soaked well. Bloody hell.

Honestly, even after finding the teaser of ‘Toxic – A Fairy Tale For Adults’ ultimately bizarre and pointless at that time, I vowed that I will not watch the trailer of ‘Toxic’ even when someone bribes me to do and offers me the amount which will be the highest till time. But, rocking star ‘Yash’ji mind blowing, terrific and unforgettable impact as Ravan in ‘Ramayana’ changed my mind.

I sat with my hand clasped to my heart to watch the Hindi trailer of Toxic – A Fairy Tale For Grownups on its release date – August 08, 2026.

‘Toxic’ trailer began with a boy coughing and pleading for forgiveness from what it seems to be his dad – Raya (Yash), gun shots, a giant wheel getting burned and you start guessing what the award-winning director Gayatri Das aka Geetu Mohandas is gonna churn.

But alas, within no time my hopes started getting burned when I saw close ups of the wild and surreal Kiara Advani, Nayantara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth performing their glam and oomph duty emerging from nowhere.

The women are laughing madly, the Man – the hero is ‘naked’ly slashing throats, hands, heads. From blood in the bathtub to blood in those snow-clad mountain’s things start getting ultimately wild, bizarre and pointless with no connection and conviction.

Said to be made with a humongous budget reportedly in the range of seven hundred to one thousand cores and I found the 4+ minutes trailer devoid of even 1 minute of entertainment. What a pity. 

Yes, the style, swag (though some of it is manufactured), attitude of Yash as the father Raya and the amazing sets that reminds you of Europe and Latin America confirms that Yash and Geetu indeed have a taste.

Cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, set designer T. P. Abid have truly worked marvellously on the visuals.

But boss, splendid visuals you also can get easily – rains during the monsoon, sun rise/sunset, a black and white poster of Marilyn Monroe, Nutan and yes of course Madhubala but in cinema the great visuals work only if its coined with an engaging storyline/narrative.

To make matter verse, rocking star Yashji’s second avatar in ‘Toxic’ seems to be a crazy maniac who wants to settle scores with his father. How bacchanishqly ‘Shakti’ with all those ‘Trishul’s ’ is that.  

That made it very difficult and almost impossible for me to get into the minds and hearts of Geetu Mohandas, Yash (also the co producer) and KVN.
