My good friend producer – director and writer Money Kapoor urf the self-proclaimed Last Showman On Earth appeared excited and I caught him making notes on his ‘Notebook’ at his regular kapi house in Andheri link road.

“You are appearing quite thrilled Sirji, instead of watching videos/reels you are making notes on your ‘Notebook”. I asked.

“Bingo!!”, he replied 

“What?!!” I asked

“Are Baba, I’m making preparations for a grand comeback” Money said.

“You are making a comeback” I said.

“Yes, and it will be a grand mega pan India phenomenon” Money said.

“The way you are saying, it seems it’s goanna be something unbelievably awesome” I said.

“I’m wondering who should be the male lead?” Money said.

“Yes, it’s a man’s world and the film industry is ruled by Men, the choice of the male lead is very important. The stature of the male lead announces the reach and class of the project/film,” I said.

“You are right. Do you have any suggestions?” Money asked.

“This is tricky, all Gen X are failing, no matter how many vanity vans they demand, however Gen Z is making waves” I said.

“What is this Gen X, Gen Z, I asked suggestion for a male lead” Money said.

“You are not aware of Gen X, Gen Z” I said surprisingly.

“I don’t care about this sci fi inspired terms and brackets, I am aware of stars, superstars, mega stars, Khiladi, pan India stars, global stars, rebel stars, iconic stars and all” Money said.

“You don’t know Gen X and Gen Z but you do know Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and similarly you must be aware of ‘Saiyaara’ leads - Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda right” I asked

“Oh ‘Saiyaara’ yes yes, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda deewana kar daala yeh log ne India ko’ kya chali picture toofan”. Money Kapoor said.

‘There you are Sirji’ - Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are Gen Z and Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan etc are Gen X, Gen Z is ruling and Gen X is fading day by day” I said.

“That I know”, Tu actor batana kisko sign karu, actress is finalized, Nora Fatehi’’. Money said.

“Sirji, you are creating history, actress final ho gayi aur hero ka pata hi nahi, kamaal hai” I wondered.

“It’s a one-sided love story – ‘ek tarafa pyaar wali’ that has an alpha male lead like ‘Animal’ and its passionate like ‘Saiyaara’ and intense and violent like the recent ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ and that Diwali surprise “Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’’ Money said.

“Simple hai take Ranbir Kapoor’ I said

“Ranbir Kapoor no way”

“Why” I asked

“Ranbir is playing Maryada Purushottam Prabhu Shri Ram in the upcoming ‘Ramayan’, am a great devotee of Lord Ram, I cannot do that”

“I understand, then Saiyaara ka hero Ahaan Panday” I said.

‘No’ neither Ahaan Panday nor Harshvardhan Rane, they both have appeared in love stories previously, I am re introducing Nora Fatehi as an actress not as a dancer, I want a fresh pair, that matches with the title of my film”. Money said.

‘Kamaal hai. Herione final hai, title decided hai but who is the hero no one knows, teek hai title toh dasso sirji (ok tell me the tittle sir)” I said.

 “Tera Husn Bavandar, Mera Ishk Dhurandar” said Money Kapoor

“Kya baat hai, what is the plotline sirji” I said

“The hero/male lead plays clapper boy/light man cum trolly man cum helper on film shoots who gets smitten by a female action super star played by Nora Fatehi, gradually the obsession crosses limits and…” said Money Kapoor.

“Well in that case, Nawazuddin Siddiqui can be a good choice as the hero, but will Nora Fatehi say yes” I asked.

“Who cares whether the heroine says ‘yes’ in our love stories and what does a woman feels in reel or real nowadays?”. Money Kapoor said.
