Fukrey 3 review: quirky, crazy, fun tibara, three cheers for choocha and the Fukrey’s

What: Fukrey 3 - Mrighdeep Singh Lamba in the third instalment of the money spinner Fukrey staring Varun Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chaddha prove thrice that the rare thing called harmless comedy can be achieved again and again and again.

Fukrey 3 movie synopsis

After an impressive recap of the first two franchises Fukrey and Fukrey 2, we see the Fukura gang struggling to run a departmental store in saadi Delhi. The ‘choochiyaap’ of the favourite choocha (Varun Sharma) is restricted to finding branded chaddis of kids, to lost cat, etc.). Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Lali (Manjot Singh), and Pandit (Pankaj Tripathi) are not happy with the situation they are in. the deja chu of Choocha has not given them any lottery.

On the other hand, Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha) is entering politics and has said something against the water Mafia controlled by Dhingra (Amit Dhawan).

Circumstances lead the Fukrey gang land up in South Africa to use Choocha’s deja vu for a hunt for diamonds in a coal mine owned by Shunda Singh Ahluwalia. (Manu Rishi Chadha) a hilarious and equally weird super power is discovered and the Fukrey gang goes back to Delhi and we see Choocha standing against his beloved Bhooli Punjaban in the election.

Fukrey 3 movie review

Fukrey is a rare quirky comedy brand in mainstream Hindi cinema that has maintained its wits and foolhardiness and every sequel has something crazy to offer.

Fukrey 3 the third instalment directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba stays true to the formula and the pleasantly acceptable dumbness.

The writing by Vipul Vig with additional dialogues by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba maintains the madcap element throughout in the first half. Varun Sharma remains at centre stage and his antics mostly works.

The scene in South Africa when lunch is discussed from the top of a mountain and the scenes under the aircraft made me go LOL.

The momentum gets a bit boring in the second half as gags go missing, with half-baked inclusion of the love triangle of Choocha with Mombasa makes matter worse. The social issue of water gets unnecessarily serious but the day is saved with an impressive wind up.

Performance

Fukrey 3 is Varun Sharma’s territory and he is an absolute entertainer right from the word go. His cute charm and foolhardiness win hearts again.

Pankaj Tripathi‘s as Pandit is a delight.

Pulkit Samrat is fantastic.

Manjot Singh has his moments

Richa Chaddha is good

Amit Dhawan is okay.

Manu Rishi Chadha is wasted.

Final words

Fukrey 3 is fun, if you loved the previous two franchise, you will love this as well.
