Amitabh Bachchan refused to do ‘Shahenshah’

The shooting of ‘Shahenshah’ was about to begin in around fifteen days. Suddenly, Tinnu Anand gets a message from Amitabh Bachchan that he should come to Mysore (Amitabh was shooting for Mard) and do not send his unit of Shahenshah to Bangalore.

Sensing something quite serious, Tinnu went running to Mysore only to find out that Amitji is in Madras (Chennai) and is admitted in hospital.

Amitabh was suffering from myasthenia gravis (MG). The disease is a chronic autoimmune disorder in which antibodies destroy the communication between nerves and muscle, resulting in weakness of the skeletal muscles.

When Tinnu met Amitabh, he said Tinnu that he is not sure whether he will be able to do Shahenshah so better to take someone else for the role.

Tinnu was speechless, everything was in place but what can be done at this stage.

Later, Tinnu came to know that Amitabh’s health has deteriorated and he has been admitted in Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital. A press statement by Amitabh Bachchan further caused more worries for Tinnu.

Amitabh has said in that statement that owing to his health issues, he will shoot for only those films which are already under progress and will not commence any new project that includes ‘Shahenshah’.

Amitabh Bachchan health shows no improvement and he is taken to out of India for treatment. During this time, Tinnu Anand was in Delhi and he pays a visit to Amitabh’s brother Ajitabh’s place. Tinnu Anand is welcomed with the good news, Amitabh’s health is getting much better and he is likely to commence his work and hopefully will consider acting in couple of new films as well. Tinnu Anand finds a glimmer of hope. After some days, Amitabh is back to work.

Tinnu Anand pays him a visit at the sets of Mard. Amitabh gives a good ear to Tinnu’s problem and agrees to do ‘Shahenshah’ as Guest Appearance.

With a heart filled with hope, Tinnu Anand approaches Rishi Kapoor and offers him the title role of Shahenshah, Rishi and Tinnu have worked together before in Duniya Meri Jeb Mein and Tinnu was damn sure that Rishi will agree as they shared a bonding.

But destiny had another story to tell, Rishi refused to do Shahenshah and poor Tinnu rushes back to Amitabh.

On refusal of Rishi Kapoor, Tinnu Anand goes back to Amitabh Bachchan and Amitabh agrees to do Shahenshah for the sake of his friend Tinnu Anand.
